And frankly you can do very good without those plugins. The ONLY one who will (and that is if the dev wants to do it themself) install something that call home for piracy is the deveopler themself and how many do that? Uhe Tone2 and maybe a few others. Gaming/Photoshop etc etc yes Another thing is that most piracy for audio is mostly Vst/Vsti plugins that can be installed on another HD ((unless you must have Vst3 and in that case hmm no they dont give a shit about a vst3 file so why scan that crap?). Hell they sometimes forget yo update their own Daw Logic so it will work with the new OSX version how stupid isnt that? So no i dont buy that win 10 is looking for audio piracy softwares. Thats what happens when software developers need a "host" aka OS in order to work OSX is a great example of that case. Oh an MIDI Microsoft refused to install tons of old midi software on win 7 hell AV also flag them as virus thers is absolutely nothing wrong with those softwares its just that microsoft changed and the midi software cant work after the changes why is that?. Another question is DO microsoft even know about audio stuff hell developer of audiointerfaces refuses to sign the drivers to microsoft as they want alot of money to sign the drivers thats why you always have to thick a box when you install drivers to an audiointerface. Gaming and maybe photoshop/office is another topic as there is very few ppl that use their PC for audio vs how many that use it for drawing gaming and office stuff. But yea like you said, who knows if thats even still possible once newer CPU's come out but im good for the next 10 years, lol. All you really have to do is create a bootable ISO with either the program "Smart Tool" or "Rufus" which will inject missing USB drivers for you, and then there is no need to get a PS/2 keyboard anymore to navigate through the installation menu of Win 7. Im not that tech savvy myself either, i merely followed simple tutorials to get Win 7 to install on latest Ryzen CPU's. I totally understand even though its not as complicated as it may sound. And there will come a point in time when it won't be possible to do it at all. I suppose I went into off-topic territory with this, but to answer your question, installing Windows 7 on current hardware is a pain especially for someone who is not well versed in the technical aspects of computing and OS. I think im not allowed to but i highly recommend that version, simply because it was the last update before the telemetry wave hit us all and it all went downhill from there if you ask me. Not sure if im allowed to share my Win 7 ISO here with updates only up until November 2017. Any updates that came after that were mainly security updates which you dont need on an offline machine. My counter question would be why would you want to use Win 10 so bad on an offline machine? Why not Win 7 instead? Find a Win 7 ISO with updates up until November 2017 and you are perfect to go. I shared before how these services are not really turned off when turning them off within the options of Win 10. Through some update, then i would think its possible since windows services in general tend to run in the background and Win 10 makes it difficult to completely turn off all telemetry and services. "And now i'm like a major threat because i remind you of the things you were made to forget." You guys better stay away from using warez on latest Win 10 updates or the near future, not sure if it has been implemented fully yet or not but thats their plan to be able to detect pirated warez on your computer and disable it. Nor do i have any of the windows updates downloaded on that particular offline computer, which will eventually turn your Win 7 into Win 10 with all these nasty telemetry updates spying on your every activity. Im using Win 7 on my offline music production computer and never had an issue so far. Some of you might want to take the warnings more serious and settle for an offline computer for music production. Now whether or not this is the case here, i dont know, most likely the issue is something else here but it might still be helpful for some to know about the whole Win 10 / piracy detection in the near future. I would stay far away from using warez on Win 10 while at the same time being connected to the internet. Just google "windows 10 piracy detection" and read up on it.
